On June-29-2014 we were able to release two of our pups back into the ocean! Alfie and Amber, both grey seal pups that came into our care this past winter, were finally ready to go! A large crowd gathered around as we brought them down onto the beach in Courtown. The kids' faces showed their anticipation- almost as much as the seals themselves!
Alfie and Amber were very excited to be released into the ocean and barreled down the beach as fast as their flippers would take them. After hitting the water, Amber disappeared into the waves almost immediately with no more than a single backward glance. Alfie stayed near the beach for a while, taking his time to get his bearings before swimming off. Both of these seals had such big "seal-alities" while in care that it was kind of sad to see them go, but we are all so happy to see them back where they belong.
