Meet Thumper!

Thumper is the first male common seal pup of the 2016 season. He was found in Kellystown Co Sligo on 18th June 2016 by Nina Heydeck.

Thanks to our wonderful network of volunteers who kept him overnight to tube feed him essential fluids and then transported him to our centre in Courtown. Maurice Power, Lorna Reid, Sheba O Callaghan, Darren, Gemma James & Leah Spencer you guys are awesome.

Thumper was around 7 days old and weighed only 7.95kg. Poor thumper has had a rough start. His umbilicial cord was missing and he was losing a lot of blood. Thankfully we managed to get the bleeding stopped but Thumper will be spending another few days in ICU before moving into kennels.

We will keep you updated on the progress of Thumper so stay tuned.
