Meet Stitch!

Stitch is a Male Common Seal pup that was rescued on 23rd July from Dunmoran Strand in Co Sligo. He was around 9 days old and weighed in at only 8.7kg.

A huge thank you to Guy Gowan who went and collected Stitch from the beach and kept him overnight.

The next morning Guy transported Stitch to Sheba & Neil Walton in Strandhill where he received vital fluids before he drove him to our centre in Courtown.

When stitch arrived at the centre he was given more fluids. It was a long journey for him on such a warm day but it did not seem to bother him.

Stitch spent a week in ICU before being moved into a kennel with Lilo. Although she was a lot bigger than him he knew how to look after himself.

Stitch is flying through rehab which is great and you can see the difference in him from the photos. He is boing forcefed fish now so hopefully it will not be long before he is eating all on his own.
