Entanglement in marine debris is responsible for countless seal deaths worldwide. Seal Rescue Ireland is working with Clean Coasts to help keep our oceans clean and protect our seals! Come join us for a beach clean-up on Sunday, March 13 at 10am on Dodds Rock Beach in Courtown! Once we have cleaned the beach, we will celebrate with the release of some of our grey seals back into the sea!
The event will proceed rain or shine, so bring appropriate gear including wellies, rain jacket, and warm clothes. Clean Coasts will be providing gloves, bags, and litter pickers.
It should be a fun day for the whole family! We will be selling some of our gift shop items, raffling off an aquarium, and awarding prizes for categories such as most marine debris collected, biggest piece of marine debris, and biggest entanglement hazard. Snacks will be provided.
We’re planning to have the seal release around 12pm. Please RSVP by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (087 195 5393). We hope to see you there!
