SRI Habitat Restoration Reaches Milestone of 20,000 Trees!
SRI’s Habitat Restoration programme has reached a HUGE milestone: we’ve hit our goal of planting 20,000 native trees! A big thank you to our friends at Salesforce who sponsored this project, as part of their pledge to support and mobilize the conservation and restoration of 100 million trees over the next decade! We couldn’t be more proud of this work which is dedicated to improving water quality, fighting climate change, and promoting biodiversity where it is most needed. Trees and vegetation act as a natural filtration system by storing water & removing pollution and sediment from run-off, helping to keep our rivers and coastal waters healthy. Trees also improve soil, reduce erosion, and help with air quality. As these trees grow, their benefits will increase, so we’re delighted to be creating a better future for humans and seals alike! Thank you to the Local Authority Water Programme, Wexford Environmental Network, local land owners, our Volunteers & friends in the community who helped, & supported us to reach this amazing milestone.
